Back Home in GA

Wow! I can't believe that it has been almost I month since my last post. Since this is Toby's blog I will start with an update on him. Toby is doing great in his agility training. It has been a month and a half since his last zoom. I took Toby to Texas with me when I went for the Dental Conference. He travels very well. The first Monday we were in Texas I took Toby back to the scene of the crime to work on proofing him. Because Toby had been in the truck for two days and a long way from his back yard, I decided that I needed to be very careful as to not stress him out to the max. I hooked up with Windle at Best Friends Fun Farm in a beginner class. Although we have moved up in skills I felt that with all that was going on in his life and the traveling this would be a good place. I wanted success. We were in the barn with 7 new dogs. Toby had never seen these dogs and their handlers before so there was a lot of newness going on. Toby did great! A couple of times Toby acted as if he was going to zoom but stopped and returned back to me. Huge progress! I still need to do more proofing but we are on the right path.

While I was in Texas I got an email from my instructor here in GA. It seems that we are being moved to another class. This makes me very sad because I love working with Melissa! She totally gets Toby and has taught me a bunch. But her reasons are, Toby and I need to continue progressing with the proofing and making sure no matter what is going on Toby will not zoom. Being in a class with a new instructor and different dogs and people will help with this problem.

Also while I was in Texas I got a formal offer on d Dental Hygiene job here in GA. This was the best Birthday gift! First thing this morning I went and took a whiz quiz. Tomorrow I will have some training on how the Dental office works and their beliefs. I will have another day of training on Wednesday. Then next Monday I will start seeing patients. I will work 3 days next week. On the following week I will start my schedule that will be on going. Get this! I will be working Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8 to 5 with an hour lunch. Yes! I will have 3 day weekends. Yeah! Plus I will not have to worry about working late. Here in GA the Dr. has to be in the building or I can't do any work. This is a big plus for me. Most of you know that in my last job, The Dr. would ask me to do 4 quadrants of scaling and rootplaning at 5:00 and then he would leave and go home. Most of the time I did not get out of there until 7:00. Those days are gone.

Well I need to get busy! Vacation is over!
